Week#5  Agenda

Reminder: Our live session will take place at 6pm this week, not 7pm.
Hours # -9 ~ 0
As of 9amEDT, I see a few tweets from last Friday, but I'm not seeing a lot of blog posts, tasks completed, or new Diigo bookmarks, so there are plenty of earlier assignments to work on:
  • Post an mp3 on your blog   Audio guide
  • Create a Hot Potatoes, ProProfs, and/or Quizlet Activity and embed it on your blog.   Activity Guide
  • Post  at least one short blog entry about someone else's work.

  • Post 'initial thoughts' about The Ultimate Task on your blog.
The Ultimate Task: Create a prototype for a course you are likely to teach that includes a website, curriculum overview, information about the CALL Tools you will use and some examples of CALL in action.  For this week, just post a paragraph about what kind of course this is likely to be and what kind of CALL Tools you'd like to include.

  • Continue to engage in social learning - Find readings of interest (journal articles, blogs posts, presentations, etc.)  Document your learning - bookmark and/or tweet what you consume.  Create blog posts about someone else's work.  Link back to it when you post.  Comment on someone else's post or tweet if you can genuinely do so. To find material of interest:
    • Take a look at the Readings page.  Look at some of the articles listed and/or use the google custom search to find others.
    • Go to your Google Reader.  Look at the the EFL and Teacher Blogs Section
    • Go to search.twitter.com - type in some queries of interest and see what you find. or take a look at the latest tweets from of EFL List of tweets.  Usually some interesting links there.
  • Check out the soon to be published info about Learning Management System options for your course websites (Moodle, Weebly, and more)
