Week#4  Agenda

Fatimah, I have a feeling it might be just you and me for the live session this week. Meghan let me know that she will be out of town and I just saw from  Sarah's tweet that she will likely be out of commision as well.  Sarah, kudos on tweeting your injury! One-handed post-surgury participation is welcome, but I certainly understand if you are unavailable. (Update: Just saw your blog post Sarah and sounds like you are still functioning. If you do show up, perhaps we can create a multimedia presentation of your latest 'break' :)

So I will plan to connect with whomever is available at 7pm.  Below is the agenda I was planning on, but I suspect this may blur into next week.

Hour#1
Hmmm, as of 9amEDT, doesn't look like a lot of assignments from last week got done, so we begin there.
Last week's assignments
  • Engage in social learning - Find readings of interest (journal articles, blogs posts, presentations, etc.)  Document your learning - bookmark and/or tweet what you consume.  Create at least one short blog post about someone else's work.  Link back to it when you post.  Comment on someone else's post or tweet if you can genuinely do so.
    To find material of interest:
    • Take a look at the Readings page.  Look at some of the articles listed and/or use the google custom search to find others.
    • Go to your Google Reader.  Look at the the EFL and Teacher Blogs Section
    • Go to search.twitter.com - type in some queries of interest and see what you find.
or take a look at the latest tweets from of EFL List of tweets.  Usually some interesting links there.
  • Audio Guide - Explore/bookmark sites.  Download Audacity. Record an audio file, upload to PBWorks. Try to post on your blog.

Hour#2

We will review, troubleshoot and discuss Hour#1 items and preview Hour#3/Assignment items.

Hour#3/Assignments

Activity Guide -
Attempt as many tasks as possible.  If Hot Potatoes is not working on your Mac's, focus browsing and bookming activity sites and creating activies with Google Forms, Proprofs, and/or Quizlet.

Readings:
Find something interesting on your own or choose one from the bottom of the Audio guide or Activity Guide.  Either way, create a short blog post sharing you thoughts on the reading.
